Mining Sluice

Try your hand at gold mining and experience a piece of North Idaho’s past as a family. Using a traditional mining sluice, visitors can sift through sand and gravel to see how prospectors searched for gold, watching as water helps separate heavier materials from lighter debris. It’s a fun, hands-on way for kids and adults alike to explore local history and discover what life was like during the region’s mining days.
